About this Event:

Savage CX is held in one of the few designated Wilderness areas in North Carolina, it is wild and scenic. Often called the Grand Canyon of North Carolina you will be in for a treat as you circumnavigate the gorge and push yourself to the base of Table Rock Mountain. There will be at least 2 rest stops along the route and a wonderful meal at the end.

August 12th 2017 9am start, USFS permit approved 

Registration:

Registration / packet pickup open Friday from 5pm to 8pm, Saturday 7:30am to 8:30am. Drop bags will be transported to the rest stops. Rest Stop One bags will leave before the start of the race, have them in place early!

Camping

Camping will be available on site for those interested in traveling up on Friday.

Red rear light, helmet, awesome attitude

Recommended Gear

Pump/compressed air, tube/patches, layers for inclement weather, your favorite post ride beverage

Rules / Guidelines

Ride single file to the right when on open roads unless passing Obey all traffic rules unless the Sheriffs department waves you through Riders may support other riders

Route

Savage CX –CCW

Course is Counter Clock Wise this year!  This year’s direction puts you on pavement for the first 10 miles..

Rest stops at 22 / 35 miles will be fully stocked and you may send a drop bag to each of these stops.

Elevation gain is at 7,000 ft.

This course is extremely rough (tires = high volume/low pressure > low volume/high pressure)

Bike recommendations would be CX or Gravel bike with big tires or 29er
